Parent Involvement All parents are highly encouraged to participate in one way or another in the ECC community. There are many opportunities. Two major ways to get involved are:
Governing Council: The Governing Council is an all-volunteer group of about 15 parents tasked with helping the school administers create the best possible school environment. Responsibilities include school fundraising, community building, class consistency, school policies and procedures, etc. The officers of the Council are chosen for a year term at a time, with the exception of the co-Presidents, who serve a two-year term. They hold monthly Board meetings on the second Wednesday of each month.
Parent Association: The Parent Association is another committee of parent volunteers and is overseen by the Governing Council. While it is also responsible for helping to create community within the ECC, they do not have voting privileges and their terms of service may vary. The PA also meets on the second Wednesday of each month, immediately following the Governing Council. All parents are invited to attend this meeting, regardless of whether or not one holds a specific PA position.
